Hej!
Summer is wonderful, but it also comes with some inconveniences, like mosquitoes and horseflies that attack us at night or in the forest while walking the dog. We were in Finnish Lapland two weeks ago and slept in our car one night because it felt more adventurous than booking accommodation. The whole adventure, however, was escaping the swarms of mosquitoes waiting outside the car for us to get out. Horrible!
I tend to get infected from time to time due to a reaction to foreign proteins and excessive scratching, so I prefer to treat bites quickly before they get too bad. To do this, I simply take lavender essential oil and apply it to the bite, repeating it every few hours until I’m satisfied. You can dilute it with a carrier oil beforehand if you like, but it’s usually not necessary.
If you get a tick bite, carefully remove the tick and apply lavender oil to the bite every five minutes for half an hour. Works great! See you soon!
