Ease Carpal Tunnel Discomfort: Essential Oil Blends as Complementary Care

This condition is well known all around the world. I don’t know any statistics, but I would freely assume that in the western world, considering how we work and use our hands, one in three to four people is confronted at some point in their lives with this unpleasant condition of the wrist and the hands. The carpal ligaments, that run through the wrist, become inflamed due to work stress, fluid retention, trauma or injury and most of the time plain strenuous wrist activities that can occur from anywhere between your laptop and ordinary garden work. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling of the fingers, pain in the wrist and arm, a general sense of weakness and difficulty grasping small objects.

From the book „Modern Essentials“ comes this recipe for treating your carpal tunnel syndrome: Apply 1 drop basil and 1 drop majoram on the shoulder and massage oil into the skin. Then apply 1 drop lemongrass on the wrist and 1 drop oregano on the rotator cuff in the shoulder and massage into the skin. Next apply 1 drop majoram and 1 drop cypress on the wrists and 1 drop cypress on the neck down to the shoulder and massage into the skin. Lastly, apply peppermint from the shoulder down the arm to the wrist and then out to the tips of each finger and massage into the skin!

If you want it a little bit easier with less instructions, mix 3 drops of basil, 3 drops majoram, 2 drops of lemongrass and 2 drops cypress and dilute with 1 tbs. fractionated coconut oil and massage gently into the arm from the shoulder to the fingertips.

Be well and see you soon!
