Some books are especially great when you want to get really deep into a new topic. And having a reference book to look up everything you want to re-check is worth a lot. Regarding essential oil for me that book is „Modern Essentials: A contemporary guide to the therapeutic use of essential oils“. It is a 520 pages long treasure trove of information on what essential oils are and historically were, how they are being harvested, what they consist of, what they can do for all known sicknesses and what science says about the effectiveness of in each case. There is so much going on in that book, explaining the systems in your body and which oils can be applied to which points,
There is also a quick reference guide at the end of the book, where you can quick and easily remind yourself which oils to use if you are in a hurry as well as a property chart that shows the properties (antibacterial, antifungal…) of each single oil at a glance. All the cited studies are listed in the appendix for reference as well.
The most important constituents of the oils are listed in a section towards the end of the book, so that you know about the chemical structure and what are the most important ingredients in your oils. Even the possible interactions with most common drugs like aspirin are mentioned.
The book dives not only very deep into the topic of all things essential oils, it has many lovingly designed charts, for example on reflexology and the autonomic nervous system. So get your copy and you will never have to wonder again, which oil to grab or to recommend or to buy.
Be well and see you soon!
