When the tissue and the bones surrounding your teeth are infected, which can be caused by a buildup of plaque, that is considered a gingivitis. The gums become red and swollen and often bleed during brushing. If left untreated, gingivitis turns into periodontal, this is when the gums begin pulling away from the teeth and leave empty pockets where food particles can easily collect and become infected. When progressing, the gums pull farther away, while tissue and bone are getting weaker and teeth lose their anchoring and might fall out.
It doesn’t have to come to this, if something is really preventable, than this kind of condition. You can use several essential oils like peppermint, clove and eucalyptus together with a self-made tooth paste consisting of coconut oil and bicarbonate. Or you can buy a custom-made tooth paste like On Guard Natural Whitening tooth paste: It contains wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus and rosemary essential oils for the cleaning and calming effect while peppermint and wintergreen are responsible for a natural whitening effect.
If in an acute stadium with heavy bleeding of the gums and loosening teeth, you might also mix 2 drops of myrrh essential oil with 1/4 tsp. (2 g) of baking soda and apply that for about a minute on your gum lines. Then rinse with water and spit out.
Be well and see you soon!
