Cleaning stainless steel, affordable and excellent cleaning solution

Cleaning stainless steel can be a tough one. The often slightly streaky and shiny surface is unforgiving and streaks, fingerprints and grease splashes are often difficult to remove with a coherent, shiny result.

If you have a lot of stainless steel surfaces in your home, you are naturally interested in a simple, affordable and harmless solution. Some time ago I bought an expensive paste that does a really good job, but I don’t want to keep buying that stuff, I prefer mixing the amount I need, use it up and make something new the next time. That way I don’t need shelf space for a cleaner and it doesn’t go bad over time.

So just take 200 ml of water, as little as five, or as many as 20 drops of essential oil (lemon is great, but really every citrus oil or tea tree will do the job) and a drop of castile soap to make your stainless steel cleaning spray. 10-20 drops of oil works great on grime and the smell is more potent, meaning that it lasts longer. Mix it in the spray bottle, take a microfibre cloth and get going!

Wishing you shiny surfaces! See you soon!
