Tired Mind? Basil Oil to Refresh, Refocus and Reclaim Your Clarity!

While several essential oils are found to be mentally stimulating, author Maggie Tisserand is positive that not one of them can surpass the effect that basil oil has. She describes it like this: “A drop or two on a source of heat such as a bowl of hot water is, for me, as good as going for a walk along the sea front. Not only do I feel mentally alert, but refreshed also.”

In her book “Aromatherapy for women” she urges office workers to keep a bottle of basil on their desks for use mid-afternoon, when the end of the work day still seems too far away and your brain doesn’t feel up to the challenge anymore. She even goes on to compare the effects of basil oil to that of caffeine, but without that strain that caffeine in coffee puts on the internal organs.

If you don’t have basil at hand, you can also use rosemary, lemongrass, lemon, orange, bergamot and grapefruit. Put it in your diffusor or some drops on a cloth to inhale for some time.

Be alert and see you soon!
